One of the most famous ship wrecks is the SS Thistlegorm. It was a British armed Merchant Navy ship built in 1940. On her final voyage she was on her way to Alexandria in Egypt with important war Equipment. The vessels’ cargo included Bedford trucks, Universal Carrier armoured vehicles, Norton 16H and BSA motorcycles, Bren guns, Aircraft parts, Railway wagons and two LMS Stanier Class 8F steam locomotives. The SS Thistlegorm was sunk on 6 October 1941 by two German Heinkel aircrafts.
Nowadays it is a very famous dive site because you can still see the whole cargo including vehicles and motorcycles. In the following short video you will find some impressions.
